Points of Interest:

1. ~ Chania to Sfakia - 1.5-hour drive. (without stops). Sfakia is quite unique as an area that is still untouched by mass tourism. <Read more>

2. ~ Imbros Gorge <video> - is an 11 km long canyon located before Hora Sfakion (Skakia) in southern Crete.

*The gorge of Imbros is the second most popular hike in Crete after the Samaria.

*It is a much easier walk than Samaria: distance is 8 km, the descent is 600m and the walking time is about 2.5 hours.

* This is an excellent family walk that you could bring your children.

3. ~ Chania to Frangokastello - 2 hr. drive - without stops

Frangokastello - is near Sfakia, 13 km east of Chora Sfakion .

~The small seaside village is famous for its Venetian castle which is well preserved.

~About 300 meters east of the castle is a beautiful beach, known as “Orthi Ammos” (“Standing Sand”). The sea is crystal-clear.
